Our sensor is designed to create custom waste services – sometimes, it goes beyond that. When an installer’s truck was stolen, our tech saved the day.
Enevo’s IoT smart trash sensor measures dumpster fill levels, collections, temperature, and location. Our sensors measure location in order to create the day’s most efficient collection route: driving the fewest number of miles while avoiding dumpster overflow.
The sensor utilizes Geo and GPS location via AT&T’s LTE Cat M1 Network, specifically created for IoT devices. To create the most effective route, we have to know exactly where the dumpster is down to the foot – in trash time, a few seconds makes the difference between completing the day’s route or not.
This came in handy when an Enevo installer’s truck was stolen. The truck originally did contain an OnStar system, but it was immediately disabled by the thieves. Luckily, the installer had a few sensors in his truck. Our Texas installer called the Enevo vendor team in Boston, and they were able to ping one of the sensors to give us its location.
Authorities were able to locate the truck within a few feet of where the sensor pinged its location. The police have dusted for prints and our installer got his truck back.
We’re proud of our tech. It may live its life in a dumpster, but that doesn’t mean we cut corners on its performance. With it, we decrease costs, increases operational efficiency, and find stolen trucks.
