Trash is an industry. A $60 billion industry (Statista). But we don’t make money the same way traditional trash companies do.
We’re all about transparency, so allow us to break it down.
(determined by estimates)
Traditional trash companies create fixed collection schedules based on your estimate of your needs (and you’re more likely to overestimate).
Then, haulers generate a collection schedule and a corresponding monthly bill. This model pays traditional haulers the same amount for every pick-up, regardless of how much waste they collect – whether it’s two tons of garbage or a single trash bag.
Haulers can then charge additional fees for overflow and contamination, while customers are expected to pay for missed collections (potentially causing further overflow and fees).
Traditional waste companies can also gain extra revenue for specialized collections, like recycling or hazardous items. Larger trash companies might also own or manage their disposal and processing facilities and will charge other haulers to dump there.
This is just a generalization of industry practices; each hauler has their own way of conducting business and generating revenue.
This general formula doesn’t particularly incentivize traditional waste companies to adjust their services or encourage customer savings. That’s where Enevo differs.
(determined by our tech)
Enevo operates on a shared savings model: we only make money if our customers save money.
To operate on this model, we implement a dynamic collection schedule, powered by our technology.
Our sensors measure dumpster fill levels while our advanced analytics software works to understand your unique waste behavior, so we only collect dumpsters that need it.
This allows us to charge our customers only for the services they need, rather than billing based on estimates and fixed schedules.
Our technology also helps prevent overflow and missed pick-ups, allowing us to solve the problem before it happens, avoiding additional fees for our customers.
Once we are able to reduce customer costs by adjusting collection schedules, we take a portion of that savings. This incentivizes us to continuously decrease your costs so our revenue can increase. We utilize our advanced analytics software to further understand your waste practices, make adjustments, and implement specialized programs.
We don’t just believe in transparency of costs, but also transparency of practice. Our customer portal allows our customers to see exactly how we’re performing.
We’re not bashing traditional haulers. We’re all working together to keep our communities clean and for businesses to thrive. Enevo just does things a little differently.
We partner with those same traditional haulers to carry out collections, nation and worldwide. We share our customer base and our technology (for free!) to make everything easier – for haulers and customers alike. That way, we all benefit.
