How smart waste management has increased efficiency at Hearts for the Homeless

Hearts for the Homeless, is a not-for-profit charitable organization, set up in 1990 to feed the homeless in Buffalo, New York. Over the years, the organization has expanded to include collecting textiles, textile recycling and selling lightly used clothes. In considering ways to help the organization scale and grow their collection activities, they turned to Enevo to see if we could help them use data to increase efficiency and support future growth.

Rotterdam shows the path to becoming a smart city and harnessing the Internet of Things

For much of the last year, I’ve written about how cities are changing, about how the shift to smart cities and the uptake of the Internet of Things will happen. I believe that Rotterdam in the Netherlands is a clear example of the evolution we’re seeing and also that more and more cities will follow their lead and probably surprisingly quickly. Rotterdam isn’t the only city to have done this but this new video about the work that they’ve been doing with Enevo, is to me, a perfect example for the smart city and Internet of Things journey many, many cities will take.
